Andrea has over 23 years of experience in public education in Ohio. She has worked as a classroom teacher, intervention specialist, literacy specialist, district data team lead, and building principal.  She serves as a Regional Early Literacy Specialist at one of Ohio’s State Support Teams. She supports districts and schools in southeastern Ohio in implementing multi-disciplinary teams, evidence-based strategies in early literacy, data analysis, and the design and implementation of data-based decision frameworks. In addition, she serves as an adjunct instructor at Ohio University.

As an instructional leader, she understands and values the importance of creating a shared vision that fosters a culture of collaboration, learning, and shared leadership. As a building administrator, she effectively built a culture that resulted in a climate filled with energy and excitement for learning for the staff, students, families, and community. Teacher-based teams were restructured to focus on instructional practices, not programs, that improved student outcomes. As a result, her school team closed instructional gaps, set high expectations for all students, and quickly became the top-performing K-6 building in the district and region.
